Registered offender details a lifetime debt to society
Joshua Vaughn The Sentinel
On a brisk Saturday morning in March, Gary Haney walked into John’s Diner in New Cumberland.
Despite unseasonably high temperatures earlier in the week, Haney wore two long-sleeved shirts to deal with the cold. He sat down, enjoyed breakfast with friends and discussed scripture as he does now nearly every week.
In the room, Haney is among friends and part of the group. But, outside the walls of the diner, in his day-to-day life, he is an outcast.
Haney is a registered sex offender.
